Najib Open Marriage Initiative series of laws designed to stimulate the economy

Uma Nair

ROMAH or not ROSMAH that is the question

The sun, in all likelihood, rises in the east and sets in the west. Glory be to god(s) who is/are, may or may not be. Long live democracy!
Religion is a great thing. To me it's superb. But when sex abuse scandals rock the domain of religion, it sets you thinking. It's some food for thought. Morality is a great thing. It's worth holding onto. So where in religion--And I'm not naming any one-- does the line get blurred. The whole of last year, saw a spurt in such news. News of abuse in religion is revealing. Let me not expound on it on the world-level. Because the Vatican scandal, albeit shocking, will handle itself. When there's politics in religion--it get's sorted. And may be the Catholic Church is slowly allowing itself to open up to a slightly more democratic system

Since Najib has a great deal of experience with the Divorce Industry, he has found really some neat ways to get the economy moving again.

This past May, a Kuwaiti activist named Salwa al-Mutairi ignited a firestorm of controversy by suggesting a radical solution to her country’s growing concern about adultery and premarital sex: why not import “sex slaves” to satisfy lustful Muslim men? Her proposal drew a torrent of criticism, but al-Mutairi remained undeterred, and even went a step further by claiming that her idea was Islamically legitimate. Muslims across the world fiercely rejected her proposal, insisting that al-Mutairi was not only wrong, but also ignorant of the basic tenets of Islam. In truth, however, her idea is not nearly as “un-Islamic” as its critics suggest, and their response reflects a widespread inability to engage with the Islamic tradition.

The Najib Open Marriage Initiative is a proposed (pun intended) series of laws designed to stimulate the economy with write-offs at the same time as writing off your current spouse.

Things like:

IRS will allow for a 75% deduction on any dates after a first date with the 'Other' Woman or the 'New'Wife snatcher.
Hotel Trysts are covered as long as the Hotel Chain advertizes during UMNO Conventions .
A private investigator tailing a suspected spouse is allowed up to 15 hours per week for a 40% reimbursement. Anything over 20 Hours needs to be turned over to local law enforcement authorities.
Legal Fees for divorce attorneys, and serving papers are now certainly within IRS's new guidelines.
A Bonus 15% allowance will be in play if the spouse to be bounced has a debilitating illness or cannot get up when the papers are served.
Mental health services for children of GO-MI will not be deductible. That would constitute a form of 1najibcare

GO-rosmah will allow even more lax laws for those who wish to completely abandon their original families. However, relocation expenses for the outgoing spouse will be fully reimbursable as long as the said spouse is dropping at least 2 socioeconomic levels.

GO-rosmah as these plans are in a state of flux, feel free to add any useful suggestions here for the  Stimulus Plan.

a sizzling romance had erupted like a volcano between Najib and Rosmah

The big spending habits of another member of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s family caught the attention of the Australian media again today - this time in Sydney.

In the 'Private Sydney' section of the Australian daily Sydney Morning Herald, columnist Andrew Hornery called Rosmah the “first lady of shopping”, allegedly for spending A$100,000 (RM325,000) at a Sydney boutique.

Quoting Sydney designer Carl Kapp, the columnist reported that Kapp’s “biggest customer” had spent the astounding amount during a “private holiday” there “a little more than a fortnight ago”.

darling hotel sydney australiaAccording to the column, Rosmah and Najib had during the holiday stayed at the A$20,000 (RM65,100) a night penthouse (right) at the newly-minted five-star Darling Hotel.

Headlined ‘Super Kerr Now a Model Citizen’, the column also reported that Rosmah had requested “valet parking for her limo” and was flying Kapp out to Malaysia for fittings of the clothes she ordered.

“(Kapp said) he was being flown to Malaysia next month with a collection of ‘toiles’ for (Rosmah) Mansor to try on before completing her massive order of 61 dresses, pants and tops.

“All made from the finest silk and in a variety of exotic colours and prints, Kapp said his new muse had ‘a very good eye for colour and she likes a lot of prints’,” the prominent daily’s lifestyle column reported.
PM’s wife 'absolutely gracious'

Rosmah had recently been under fire for allegedly purchasing a diamond ring worth RM24 million, which she has vehemently denied, and for owning several Hermes handbags worth thousands of ringgit.
“In recent months, (Rosmah) Mansor... has been forced to deny reports she had bought a US$24 million diamond and a US$200,000 (RM621,000)-plus crocodile skin, bejewelled Hermes handbag," said Hornery in his SMH column.

“Kapp, who has a keen eye for such bags, having worked for Hermes, said he did not see any such handbag when he met her."
The designer also added that Rosmah is nothing like her critics accuse her of being but was “absolutely gracious and easy to deal with”.
It noted that the alleged shopping spree of the PM’s wife was firstreported on fashion blog Frockwriter, in a Jan 17 posting.

carl kapp sydney designerKapp (right) was quoted as saying that he had also met Najib, who was “relaxing, snuggling up and looking very happy together” with his wife.

“There, surrounded by samples, fabric swatches, sketches and Rosmah’s many attendants, who appeared to be gearing up for a New Year’s Eve party, Kapp was introduced to a casually-attired Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak,” it read.
Malaysiakini has contacted the PM’s office for a response.

Last October, Najib’s daughter, who was not named, was reported by the Western Australian of having spent lavishly at David Jones in Perth during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

The daily later issued a correction to the report, which cited anonymous sources, after Najib said that his daughter was not in Perth at the time.

 THE PICTURE
ON DAY 10 OF THE TRIAL, ALTANTUYA’S COUSIN BURMAA OYUNCHIMEG TESTIFIED THAT AFTER ALTANTUYA RETURNED FROM FRANCE, SHE WENT TO HONG KONG TO MEET BURMAA, AND SHOWED HER A PHOTOGRAPH OF ALTANTUYA AND HER LOVER, ABDUL RAZAK BAGINDA, WHO IS ACCUSED OF CONSPIRING IN HER MURDER, AND “A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL” TAKING A MEAL TOGETHER. ANSWERING SINGH LATER, AFTER THE SHOUTING MATCH IN THE COURT HAD SUBSIDED, SHE SAID THIS “GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL” WAS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER NAJIB TUN RAZAK.
SHE COULD DISTINCTLY REMEMBER THE NAME, SHE SAID, BECAUSE IT BEARS A SIMILARITY TO ALTANTUYA’S ACKNOWLEDGED LOVER’S NAME, AND SHE EVEN ASKED ALTANTUYA WHETHER THEY WERE BROTHERS. BURMAA FURTHER ADDED THAT THE PHOTO HAD ALSO BEEN SHOWN TO ALTANTUYA’S FATHER.
NOW, THE REVELATION OF NAJIB IN THE PHOTO WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED SUCH A SENSATION IF NOT FOR THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER’S OFT-REPEATED DENIAL OF ANY KNOWLEDGE OF ALTANTUYA, INCLUDING A PUBLIC DENIAL DURING A RECENT BY-ELECTION, WHEN EVEN THE NAME OF ALLAH WAS INVOKED.
WHAT DOES NAJIB HAVE TO SAY NOW THAT HIS DENIAL IS DIRECTLY CONTRADICTED BY THE WITNESS BURMAA? HIS PRESS SECRETARY TENGKU SARIFUDDIN TENGKU AHMAD ISSUED A BRIEF STATEMENT ON JUNE 30 SAYING THAT THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER HAD DECLINED TO COMMENT FOR TWO REASONS. ONE, ANY COMMENT MIGHT BE SUB JUDICE, SINCE THE CASE IS IN COURT, AND, TWO, NAJIB HAD ALREADY REPEATEDLY DENIED AN ACQUAINTANCE WITH THE GIRL IN THE PAST, “AS SUCH, THE ISSUE OVER THE PICTURE DOES NOT ARISE,” THE SPOKESMAN SAID.
SUB JUDICE? THAT’S RIDICULOUS. HOW COULD A SIMPLE STATEMENT LIKE “I HAVE NEVER HAD MY PHOTO TAKEN WITH ALTANTUYA” BE SUB JUDICE? IN FACT, BEING THE NUMBER-TWO LEADER IN THE GOVERNMENT, NAJIB IS ABSOLUTELY DUTY-BOUND TO SAY OUTRIGHT WHETHER HE WAS EVER PHOTOGRAPHED WITH ALTANTUYA, IN VIEW OF THE SERIOUS IMPLICATIONS OF BURMAA’S ALLEGATION.
THE ISSUE OVER THE PICTURE DOES NOT ARISE? EQUALLY RIDICULOUS. IN FACT, THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE. PRECISELY BECAUSE OF NAJIB’S PAST DENIALS, IT IS ALL THE MORE IMPERATIVE THAT NAJIB MUST STAND UP NOW TO CLARIFY.
GUILTY CONSCIENCE?
THERE IS ONLY ONE EXPLANATION FOR NAJIB’S PAST DENIALS AND HIS PRESENT SILENCE: A GUILTY CONSCIENCE. IF NAJIB’S CONDUCT WITH RESPECT TO THE CASE HAD BEEN ABOVE-BOARD, THERE WOULD BE NO REASON FOR HIM TO DENY AN ACQUAINTANCE WITH HIS FRIEND ABDUL RAZAK’S FRIEND ALTANTUYA. SIMILARLY, IF THE ALLEGATION OF THE PICTURE IS FALSE, IT IS INCONCEIVABLE AND TOTALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE THAT NAJIB SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO REFUTE BURMAA’S ALLEGATION.
IN FACT, NAJIB SEEMS SO WORRIED ABOUT THE PUBLICITY OF THE PICTURE THAT HIS SECRETARY CALLED EDITORS IN THE LOCAL PRESS AND REQUESTED THEM NOT TO BLOW UP THE ISSUE. THIS RESULTED IN THE EXPLOSIVE STORY BEING ABSENT FROM THE LOCAL HEADLINES THE NEXT DAY. (IN ONE CHINESE PAPER – GUANG MING – THE NAJIB STORY HIT THE FRONT PAGE IN THE EVENING EDITION, BUT DISAPPEARED COMPLETELY BY THE NEXT MORNING). AND OF COURSE, ANWAR IBRAHIM’S CRITICISM OF THE TRIAL AND HIS SPECIFIC CALL ON NAJIB TO CLARIFY THE ISSUE OF THE PICTURE DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE WAS GENERALLY BLACKED OUT.
HOWEVER, DESPITE SUCH NEW SUPPRESSION, IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE IS DONE. THERE IS LITTLE DOUBT THAT NAJIB IS DEEPLY TROUBLED AND HIS POLITICAL POSITION SERIOUSLY WEAKENED.
MANIPULATION
THAT THIS MURDER CASE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO SERIOUS POLITICAL MANIPULATION HAS BEEN OBVIOUS FROM THE VERY START, WHEN THE POLICE COMMENCED THEIR HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE INVESTIGATION, RIGHT THROUGH TO THE PRESENT TRIAL WHEN THE CONDUCT OF LAWYERS FOR BOTH SIDES APPEAR INCREASINGLY DUBIOUS. INSTEAD OF THE PROSECUTOR SEEKING THE TRUTH AND THE DEFENSE LAWYER FIGHTING FOR THE ACCUSED, BOTH SEEM PREOCCUPIED WITH AN OVERRIDING MISSION – TO PREVENT THE WHOLE TRUTH FROM EMERGING. THEIR COMBINED EFFORTS TO COVER UP THE ISSUE OF THE IMMIGRATION RECORD AND THE IDENTITY OF NAJIB RAZAK IN THE PICTURE ARE JUST TWO EXAMPLES OF SUCH CONDUCT.
THE HIGHLY IRREGULAR NATURE OF THIS CASE WAS ALSO MARKED BY FREQUENT AND MYSTERIOUS CHANGES OF LEGAL PERSONNEL, RESULTING IN A COMPLETE CHANGEOVER OF THE DEFENSE TEAM, THE PROSECUTORS AND THE JUDGE EVEN BEFORE THE HEARINGS BEGAN. THESE WEIRD PHENOMENA WERE CROWNED BY THE SHOCK APPEARANCE OF A NEW TEAM OF PROSECUTORS WHO WERE APPOINTED ONLY HOURS BEFORE THE HEARING WAS SUPPOSED TO BEGIN, THUS NECESSITATING AN IMPROMPTU POSTPONEMENT OF THE TRIAL FOR TWO WEEKS. NONE OF THESE CHANGES OF LEGAL PERSONNEL HAS BEEN PROPERLY EXPLAINED, EXCEPT FOR THE RESIGNATION OF ABDUL RAZAK’S FIRST LAWYER; ZULKIFLI NOORDIN, QUIT, HE SAID, BECAUSE OF “SERIOUS INTERFERENCE BY THIRD PARTIES”.
UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES, THE PUBLIC MUST BRACE ITSELF FOR MORE ABERRANT SCENARIOS FROM THIS COURT, WHILE NAJIB AND HIS SUPPORTERS MAY HAVE TO KEEP THEIR FINGERS CROSSED IN THE DAYS AHEAD WHEN MANY MORE WITNESSES HAVE YET TO WALK THROUGH WHAT MUST APPEAR TO NAJIB AS A MINEFIELD.
ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE, THIS UNSEEMLY TRIAL DOES NOT EXACTLY ADD CREDIT TO MALAYSIA’S SYSTEM, WHOSE ALREADY WRETCHED IMAGE HAS JUST BEEN FURTHER MAULED BY THE SHAMEFUL FINALE OF ANOTHER SHAM TRIAL – THAT OF ERIC CHIA OF PERWAJA STEEL FAME. AFTER SEVEN LONG YEARS OF INVESTIGATIONS AND THREE YEARS OF COURT HEARINGS, THAT CASE WAS THROWN OUT DUE TO LACK OF PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE. WITH THAT, THE LONG-DRAWN OUT PERWAJA STEEL SAGA ENDED WITHOUT FINDING ANY CULPRIT FOR THE MOUNTAIN OF LOSSES (MORE THAN RM 10 BILLION) SUFFERED BY TAXPAYERS.
THERE HAS BEEN A SPATE OF CRIMINAL CASES BEING DISMISSED OF LATE DUE TO INADEQUATE INVESTIGATIONS AND POOR PROSECUTION, INDICATING THAT THE DOWNWARD SLIDE OF OUR CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, WHICH BEGAN IN THE MAHATHIR ERA, HAS GOTTEN WORSE UNDER ABDULLAH BADAWI’S LEADERSHIP. WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN A SHAMBLES, THE RULE OF LAW IS IN JEOPARDY. AND THAT IS AN IMPORTANT BENCHMARK TO JUDGE THE EFFICACY OF ABDULLAH’S ADMINISTRATION VIS-À-VIS HIS REFORM AGENDA.

“women should know better than to walk alone in dark and deserted areas”
It is 100% the governments responsibility to ensure the safety and well being of the citizens. Thats why we elected the government in the first place. Not so that they can build palatial residences and satay restaurants on illegal land. But to protect us. And here goes the wife of the deputy prime minister saying that we have to fend for ourselves. Not everybody in this country has 5 bodyguards at all times. There are a majority of us, that actually work. Most of us at god awful hours. We have people to support. We have to walk from our offices, to the bus stand and take the bus at 11pm at night to go home! There are many many instances where that there are supposed to be sufficient lighting but YOUR governmentFAILED to maintain it! Do not ever pass the blame to the citizens who are working to make the country what it is for your FAILURE! And I mean ever! Geezus I am hopping MAD! There are no problems at all for drunk scantily clad girls to go home at 3am in Japan. And thats after walking through the city, getting on the train and walking in the suburbs (quiet and usually involves going through parks).  Dont say that Japan is different because its your job to make it happen.
You know I suggest nobody ever invite this female (she doesnt deserve the word “women”)  to any event that fights for women rights and well being. Another sore point is her admonishment

“You must remember, when you point to others, there are four other fingers pointing right back at you.”
Is she saying that women should not voice out their concerns because ultimately, its always their fault anyway? I say WHEN THERE IS A WRONG, SPEAK UP! There are some basic rights that every women must protect. The right to speak is one of them.  Never let anybody tell you that what you feel and think doesn’t matter. Never let anybody ever convince you that you are inferior. Unfortunately, you are because of people like Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor whois betraying her very gender. She is supposed to fight for you. Not condemn all those poor victims of rape, harassment,  sexual abuse and domestic violence. And you are at FAULT if you yourself do not fight. I am a man. I can only say so much. Do so much.
She added that women should dress decently to avoid attracting unwanted attention from dangerous men.
Her last comments summarizes it succintly. Its time for you to act if you care at all about your safety and rights as a women in Malaysia. Pass the word to everybody you know.

Empowered women in control of household decisions could be losing out on sex, says a new study out ofJohns Hopkins University.
Published in the Journal of Sex in October, the researchers asked women about the last date of sexual intercourse as well as who had the final say on decisions ranging from healthcare to household purchases.
According to the Telegraph, the researchers surveyed women from six African countries who reported the more decisions made, the less physical intimacy they shared with their partners.
"The more decisions a woman reported making on her own, as compared to through joint decision-making, the less likely she was to have sex and the longer it was since she last had sexual intercourse," said lead researcher Michelle Hindin.
The findings showed more dominant and assertive women had approximately 100 times less sex.
But the researchers also noted that this isn't necessarily incidental for them -- it could also be women taking control of their sexual preferences, theDaily Mail reported.
"Understanding how women's position in the household influences their sexual activity may be an essential piece in protecting the sexual rights of women and helping them to achieve a sexual life that is both safe and pleasurable," co-author Carie Muntifering told Health24.com.
The location of the women studied may also have played a role, though. Most recently, a study by Florida State University's Roy Baumeister argued that more equality would lead to more sex. He pointed to a study surveying over 300,000 people from 37 countries which found that countries with a higher gender equality had more casual sex and more sexual partners. In nations with less equality between the sexes, the opposite was true.
Malaysia in her darkest and weakest era
But does Najib learn? Apparently not, because he is now putting on the pedestal Jamaluddin Jarjis, an ex-minister and most recently the envoy to the US. Again, JJ as he is called is not only known for a terribly corruption-tainted past but is also an alleged playboy with scandals that could rival Najib’s own naughty history.

Nonetheless, what works for Najib is that all of these guys will do whatever he asks of them just to be able to get back into a seat of power. It won’t be surprising if Najib soon recruits cash-in-suitcase Muhammad Muhammad Taib, another former Selangor chief minister with a really dubious past.
And for this, Najib wants the BN to surrender to the final decision on who to field in GE-13. Yes, he can bully his way through MCA, MIC, Gerakan and the other small ‘fries’. But already a huge fightback has been mounted in UMNO, with dissatisfied warlords wondering why they should not oust Najib instead.
Frankly, they are not wrong. Instead of improving the situation from where Badawi was forced off, Najib has pushed Malaysia into her darkest and weakest era. The present UMNO leaders and even those in the ‘winnable candidates’ list are no longer listening to Najib, because no one can guarantee that Najib will be in power after the GE-13.
